Removing the complexity in managing payments with Worldpay's help.

Empowering Experian

A global leader in consumer and business credit reporting and marketing services, Experian supports clients in more than 80 countries. The company’s largest business is direct-to-consumer, providing credit and identity monitoring to individuals in North America. Experian also has similar products in the U.K., as well as relationships in Australia, Brazil, South Africa and a number of different countries in the European Union.

Simplifying payments with a single integration

Over the years, Worldpay has become a strategic partner of Experian, and the ongoing relationship has removed much of the complexity in managing payments for Experian so the company can focus on its core competencies.

Robert Podlesni, director of operations, Experian Consumer Services, notes that the company has benefitted specifically from the implementation of Worldpay's Dynamic Routing and Revenue Boost offerings ─ two solutions that improve transaction approvals and recovery. Worldpay’s integration replaced a previous cumbersome process that placed a higher technology burden on merchants.

Sensitive data protected

In addition to a single point of integration, Experian leverages Worldpay’s OmniToken services to protect sensitive data, including the shopper’s primary account number (PAN). That data is replaced with a secure identifier called a token. When tokenization is enabled, the payment processing is done using this token instead of sharing PAN details over the network. These services also allow Experian to maintain their PCI Level 1 status.

While Experian owns and uses various fraud solutions, the company has discovered something unique in Worldpay’s offerings – in-depth and invaluable payments data – which applies additional checks on the authorization or from the chargeback perspective that don’t exist in standard fraud systems.

Other advantages of working with Worldpay include the ability for Experian to leverage domestic acquiring in multiple countries, enabling Experian to go-to-market faster with their own in-house billing system.

Worldpay's relationship managers appreciated

In closing, Robert is quick and eager to cite Worldpay's people.

“The account managers at Worldpay are fantastic, particularly when there’s an escalation from a network or an issuing bank,” he says. “I reach out and immediately get a response that not only clarifies what I was asking, but provides immediate feedback on the source of the issue.”
