Personal care products company turns to Worldpay for alternative payment methods

Founded in 1984, Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc., directly sells more than 200 premium quality anti-aging products, including skincare, dietary supplements and cosmetics. The company had sales of $2.23 billion in 2022, and has operations throughout Asia-Pacific, the Americas, Europe and Africa.

Payments challenges

Before choosing Worldpay, Nu Skin did not have an all-encompassing system that could handle global payments in all its regions; one that plugged into their finance, operations and customer service platforms. This meant they were unable to efficiently accept payments in many territories, and the business wasn’t growing as fast as they wanted it to, according to Dan England, director of global payments at Nu Skin.

As Dan recalls, Nu Skin spent a lot of time searching for a new solution and found that there weren’t many out there that offered the payment types they needed -- until he connected with Worldpay.

Why Worldpay

Nu Skin wanted to offer its customers what Dan refers to as “the basics - Visa and Mastercard” as payment options, but also desired to present as many alternative payment methods (APMs) as possible so they could reach their different customers in every part of the globe. “That’s when we found Worldpay,” he explains. “Worldpay B2B Payments integrates with our existing back-end solution and, together with their plug-in for SAP Commerce Cloud, this was a real gamechanger for us.”

According to Dan, Worldpay’s plug-in for SAP Commerce Cloud made things simple for Nu Skin, as it easily integrated into the company’s existing SAP solution – instantly providing Nu Skin with hundreds of new payment options. Worldpay B2B Payments also integrated into Nu Skin's existing back-end systems to give the company a complete view of their global performance, wherever they needed it.

“The combination of Worldpay B2B Payments and its plug-in for SAP Commerce has really streamlined our processes,” Dan continues. “It’s provided a secure and simple B2B payments solution, and boosted our access to a range of both global and regional payment methods. And, that’s all helped us to reach more customers around the world and accept payments faster and more securely. Now, we can process payments of almost any kind.”

“All in all," summarizes Dan, "the integration with Worldpay has been great. As a result, we’re already working on our next project with them."
